Jackalope Collective is a creative studio and learning resource hub designed to support families, educators, and curious minds of all ages. Our objective is to champion fellow creators to help supply you with playful printables, thoughtful stationery, hands-on activities, and meaningful content that celebrates learning, creativity, and the ups and downs of life. Our goal is to provide beautiful, joyfilled, and sustainable goods that feel special, useful, rooted in real life, and just down right fun.

Why Jackalope?

A jackalope is a mythical creature of North American folklore said to be part jackrabbit and part antelope. To us the jackalope represents something rare, a little magical, and full of wild possibility.

Furthermore, to us jackalopes symbolize the beautiful blend of wonder and wildness we see in learning, childhood, and creativity. It's a reminder to stay curious, brave, and imaginative.

Our jackalope is reaching for a star or reaching for a spark. The star is inspired by the Hayao Miyazaki film Howl’s Moving Castle. Where the dancing stars in the film represent childhood and heart.

Why Chispa?

Chispa, which means “spark” in Spanish, has long been one of our founder’s favorite words.

Jaclyn Avellán (she/her) comes from a family of Cuban and Mexican immigrants — individuals who are deeply enterprising and, by character and heritage, rooted in the service of others. Her family is made up of people who exude independence and joy, who show up in times of need, and who know how to hold space for both crass jokes and silliness as well as incredible strength and indelible human spirit.

They are uncompromising where it matters, full of warmth in playful, loving moments, and always willing to grow and to open their hearts to new possibilities.

Chispa is a tribute and a vision. A tribute to those who paved the way, and a spark we hope to carry forward.

It is a reminder to honor bighearted dreams, to build something meaningful and connected, to be brave enough to step into the unknown for the sake of love and progress, and ultimately in doing so to spark change that uplifts us all.
